Find a Life Partner

Matchmaking run by astrologers, not an app. We widen the search past your own circle, run the 36-point guna milan before anyone meets, and read manglik, nadi and bhakoot dosha properly — including the conditions under which they cancel.

Registration is free, and your matches are free to see.

What Families Come to Us With

Almost nobody calls us at the start of the search. They call after a few years of it, or after a proposal has collapsed over something nobody checked properly.

“It has been three years and nothing has worked out.”

The search has stalled

Proposals come through the same few relatives, each one takes months, and most fall away over something that was never going to work in the first place. We look across everyone registered rather than whoever happens to be known to your family, and we rule out the mismatches before anybody travels.

“Someone told us she is manglik and the family stepped back.”

A dosha that was never checked properly

Mangal dosha is read from the position of Mars in the chart, and it cancels under several well-established conditions — including when both charts carry it. We check from the birth details rather than from what a neighbour said, and we will tell you plainly when it does not apply.

“The guna came to sixteen, so they refused.”

A score treated as a verdict

Ashtakoot gives 36 points across eight koots, and 18 is a convention, not a rule. Which koots the points came from matters more than the total. We give you the full breakdown and our reading of it, so a refusal is at least an informed one.

“She is thirty-two and the proposals have stopped coming.”

Age closing the circle

Families register with us looking for exactly this. Widowed, divorced and later first marriages are a normal part of the book, not an exception we tolerate, and the form asks about marital status so we can match on it rather than to decide who may join.

“We want someone from our own community, but not only that.”

Community, plus everything else

Caste, community and mother tongue are conditions you set and we respect absolutely. Education, work, family background and city then order what is left, so you are not handed a list that meets one requirement and fails every other.

“We do not want our daughter’s photograph going around.”

Details handed out carelessly

There is no public profile wall here and nobody can search the bureau. Nobody is shown your name, phone number or address, and a photograph reaches another member only on a membership that includes it, with every viewing recorded against the account that saw it.

About Doshas, Honestly

A dosha is a reason to look more carefully. It is not a verdict, and most of them cancel under conditions that are part of the tradition itself. We would rather lose a fee than let a workable match fall apart over one that does not apply.

Mangal dosha

Also called: Manglik, Kuja dosha, Bhaum dosha

What it is. Mars sitting in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from the lagna, Moon or Venus. It is read as bringing friction into married life.

What it means in practice. It is common, and it cancels under several recognised conditions — when both charts carry it, when Mars sits in its own or exalted sign, and with certain positions and aspects. A great many people called manglik are not, on their own chart, once it is read properly.

Nadi dosha

Also called: Nadi koot, 8 points

What it is. Both charts falling in the same nadi — Aadi, Madhya or Antya — read from the nakshatra. It carries the most weight of any single koot in Ashtakoot.

What it means in practice. It costs 8 of the 36 points, so a pair with it rarely clears 18 on the total alone. It also has recognised exceptions, including the same nakshatra with different padas and certain rashi combinations. Worth taking seriously, and worth having read properly rather than assumed.

Bhakoot dosha

Also called: Rashi koot, 7 points

What it is. Certain distances between the two moon signs — 6/8, 9/5 and 2/12 — which are read as working against household harmony and prosperity.

What it means in practice. The second most common reason a proposal is refused on paper. It is treated as cancelled when the lords of the two rashis are the same or friendly, which happens often enough that it is always worth checking before anybody walks away.

Gana dosha

Also called: Gana koot, 6 points

What it is. The temperament each nakshatra belongs to — Deva, Manushya or Rakshasa — and whether the two sit comfortably together.

What it means in practice. Read as a question of temperament rather than fortune, and it softens considerably when the rashi lords are friendly or the moon signs sit well. Rarely a reason on its own to stop a match that is otherwise sound.

We will tell you what the tradition prescribes for your chart. We will not tell you a remedy is guaranteed, and we will tell you first whether the dosha applies at all.

Why Swastishanti

There are matrimonial apps with more profiles than we will ever have. What they do not do is read the chart, or stop you meeting somebody who was never going to consider you.

Astrologers read the chart, not a script

The kundali milan is run by people who cast charts for a living, on our own Swiss Ephemeris calculation. You get the nakshatra, the rashi, the eight koots and a reading of what they mean together.

The chart is checked before you meet

Not after two families have travelled and everyone is attached. Guna milan runs against every candidate before a single introduction is made.

A match has to work in both directions

Most services score what you want against what they are. We also score what they want against what you are, and the worse of the two decides. It produces a shorter list and far fewer wasted meetings.

We will tell you when a dosha does not matter

Cancellation rules are part of the tradition, not a loophole. We would rather lose a consultation fee than let a workable match fall apart over a condition that does not apply.

Your record is not a listing

Nothing is published, nothing is searchable, and your name and phone number are never shown to another member. Hide or delete your registration yourself, any time, photograph included.

There is an office you can walk into

In Kathmandu, with people who will sit down and fill the form in with you. The whole thing can also be done online if you would rather.

How It Works

Four steps, and the first one costs nothing.

1

You register

Age, height, education, work, family and what you are looking for in a partner. A few minutes online, or we fill it in with you at the office. Registration is free.

2

We read the chart

Your nakshatra, rashi and pada are worked out from your birth date, time and exact birth place, so guna milan and any dosha can be checked against a real chart rather than a guess.

3

You see your matches

Not a list of everyone. Only people whose requirements fit you and whose own requirements you fit, scored in both directions, with the guna milan already run and the score shown.

4

You talk, or we introduce you

When a match looks right, ask to chat. If they agree, the two of you write to each other inside the bureau, with no names or phone numbers exchanged. When you both want to meet, our staff make the introduction and sit with both sides.

Your Details Stay Private

There is no public profile wall here, and nobody can search the bureau. You are shown only to members of the opposite gender whose requirements you meet and who meet yours. Your name, phone number, e-mail and address are never shown to anybody. Members who match and both agree talk in the bureau's own chat, where those details are not passed on, and your photograph reaches another member only on a membership that includes it, with every viewing recorded against the account that saw it. You can hide or delete your record yourself at any time, photograph included.

Common Questions

The ones families ask on the phone, answered the way we would answer them.

What is manglik dosha, and does it stop a marriage?

Manglik, also called mangal dosha or kuja dosha, is read when Mars sits in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from the lagna, Moon or Venus. It is common, and it cancels under several well-established conditions — most simply when both charts carry it, and also when Mars is in its own or an exalted sign, among others. We read it from the birth chart rather than from what somebody has been told, and we say plainly when it does not apply.

Our guna milan came to less than 18. Is the marriage impossible?

No. Eighteen out of 36 is a convention, not a rule. Which koots the points came from matters more than the total: a pair at 16 with a clean nadi and friendly rashi lords can be a far better prospect than a pair at 22 carrying nadi dosha. We show the full eight-koot breakdown and tell you what we make of it, rather than handing you a number to accept or refuse.

What is nadi dosha, and how serious is it?

Nadi dosha is when both charts fall in the same nadi, read from the nakshatra. It carries 8 of the 36 Ashtakoot points, more than any other koot, so a pair with it seldom reaches 18 on the total alone. It is the one worth taking most seriously — and it also has recognised exceptions, including the same nakshatra with different padas and certain rashi combinations, which is why it should be read properly rather than assumed from a chart app.

Why is our daughter’s or son’s marriage getting delayed?

Usually for ordinary reasons: proposals come from the same small circle, each one takes months, and most fall away over something that could have been seen at the start. Some charts also carry positions traditionally read as delaying marriage, which an astrologer can look at with you. What we can do about it directly is widen the circle beyond your relatives and rule out the mismatches before anybody travels.

Can a dosha be remedied?

The tradition prescribes parihar — puja, specific fasts, gemstones, and in some readings a preliminary ceremony. Our astrologers will tell you what is prescribed for your chart and what it involves. We will not tell you a remedy is guaranteed to work, and we will tell you first whether the dosha applies at all, because very often it does not.

Do you check kundali milan before suggesting a match?

Yes. Every pairing we consider is scored on the 36-point Ashtakoot system from both birth charts, and you are told the score. We treat it as one factor among several rather than a pass or fail, because a workable match can sit below 18 and a poor one above it.

Is my profile shown publicly on the website?

No. Nothing you register is published anywhere, there is no public profile wall, and nobody can search the bureau. You are shown only to members of the opposite gender whose stated requirements you meet and who meet yours. Your name, phone number, e-mail and address are never shown to anybody, your photograph only to members on a plan that includes it, and you can hide or delete your registration yourself at any time.

What does it cost?

Registering is free, and we tell you how many people match your requirements. A membership shows who they are and lets you start chats: Silver shows the basics and photographs, Gold adds date of birth, nakshatra, education, work and earnings, and Diamond adds family background. Each is sold for several lengths of time, from a short stretch to a year. All fees are in Nepali Rupees and nothing renews on its own.

Can I register if I am divorced or widowed?

Yes. The form asks about marital status because it matters to what each family is looking for, not to decide whether you may register. Many people register looking specifically for a second marriage, and they are matched on it like any other requirement.

Can I register on behalf of my son or daughter?

Yes, and most registrations come from parents. Put the details of the person who is to be married, and your own phone number as the contact.

Do I have to be in Kathmandu?

No. Registration and your matches work from anywhere, and families register from across Nepal and from abroad. The birth place is picked from a full list of countries, provinces and cities so the chart is cast from the right coordinates and time zone wherever you were born.

Can I ask you to delete my details later?

Yes, at any time, and the photograph goes with the record. You can do it yourself from My account, or call or email us and it is removed.

Can I talk to a match before we meet, without giving my number?

Yes. With a membership you can ask a match to chat. If they accept, you write to each other inside the bureau and neither of you is shown the other’s name or phone number; messages that contain them, or an e-mail, a link or a social handle, are not sent. Our staff may read conversations to keep everyone safe. When you both want to meet, tell the office and we arrange it.

Start With the Chart

Register your details online in a few minutes, or come and see us in Kathmandu and we will fill the form in with you. Either way it is free, and you will see your real matches before you are asked for anything.
